COMMUNITY PLAN (CP) ACTING ON YOUR INFORMATION.

Hi everyone,

We have your views and have put them in the CP document – so what are we doing now?  Well we are attempting to put a few of those ideas, concerns or improvements into reality – current and achieved projects are:

Crooklands Hill Footpath & Footway opposite the Crooklands Hotel- work on these project are completed

Welcome Pack – When answering the Questionnaire many of you felt a 'Welcome Pack' would be a good idea not only for the new people to the community but for everyone. In response the Working team has produced the following, we hope you will find it useful and keep us informed on any changes or additional information you would like included by contacting the Clerk clerk@prestonrichard.co.uk  Please go to the home page to download the pack.

Community gardens – many concerns were raised regarding the look of the village's green spaces with a view to improving and possibly entering ‘The Village in Bloom’ competition. We have made a start on the village hall gardens by clearing the weeds from the garden and removing the trees from the car park area which unfortunately had got too large to be managed we have now replanting those areas with shrubs which hopefully will gives is lots of colour once they have got established.

Our current projects are:

A Christmas Tree for Christmas 2018 and the formulation of a choir for a carol service to bring this community together on Saturday 1st December 2018 at 6:30pm at the Millennium Clock. This was a great success in 2017 with more than 100 people attending so we have decided to do it again this year, the band is booked and hopefully we will have some seating for the elderly and very young and a mulled wine, sausage rolls and mince pies from the community. Thanks to everyone who supplies food and drink and to the community for supporting the event.

We are in the process of  restoring and old wagon as a marker advising everyone they are entering our parish at the south end of the parish and looking for ideas for the north end.

We are still working on eradicating the parish of the Hymalayan Balsam the next bash is on Tuesday 24th July meeting 6pm at Challon Hall.

If you are interested in helping or would like to get involved please contact Glenn Smithers on 015395 67586 or gjsmithers@btinternet.com
