ADVICE FROM CUMBRIA COUNTY COUNCIL REGARDING AVIAN FLU IN THE COUNTY
 
As Avian Flu has been confirmed in the County the follwing advice has been issued.
 
 

COVID-19 Nov 14/05/21

Hi All,

Well we hope things contnue to improve and life can at least get a little more normal  as there is a light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine roll out but please stay vigilant. Hopefully the Indian variant will be nipped in the bud.

Our PREP team has stood down for time being but we are sure will be on standby on standby shoud they be needed. Give them a ring. Roger Gorman 0784 566 2989 or contact me Ann Park the Parish Clerk don't struggle in silence. Below is information that may help should you need it. 

 

Cumbria County Council can provide urgent help and emergency support, including basic food and essential items, if you are struggling to cope with your current situation for whatever reason.

Call the County Council’s Support Helpline on 0800 783 1966 (Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm). Our supportive staff will talk to you and suggest ways to help.

In these difficult times your Parish Council is doing all it can to help keep everyone safe. We are sure by now you all know what you need to do to keep you and your family safe. As things have started to ease the Preston Richard Emergency Plan Team (PREP)  have stepped down for the time being but I am sure are always there should they be needed. 

Firstly we would like to sincerely thank all those involved and the volunteers who have offered to help those self-isolating at this time. Cards have been posted through doors offering help with shopping, mail, a friendly phone call or urgent supplies. If you know of anyone who is likely to need this support and they have not received a card please let the Parish Council or the PREP team know rogergormanr@aol.com

Preston Richard Parish Council's Statement of Intent on the provision of broadband to our parish.

 

SPEEDWATCH

'Community Speedwatch' is an initiative which aims to make drivers aware of their speed in the hope they will change their behaviour whilst driving. Volunteers will work in pairs watching selected areas and record the information on speeding vehicles; they will not interact with drivers and will be given training on Speed Detection Devices by the police.Should you wish to join our Speedwatch Team please contact the Parish Clerk 015395 67411
